About NORTHCLIFF PRIMARY SCHOOL

About Us

We have the proud tradition of more than 70 years of history of Northcliff Primary. Tradition, good manners and self-discipline are all a part of the culture of our school. However, the fabric of Northcliff Primary nurtures the very seeds of possibility that every child holds within themselves.
The broad curriculum that the school offers fosters each child’s strengths. Every year, we see our top achievers in Mathematics attaining high positions at Provincial Level Olympiads. We can boast about similar successes from our Science Teams at their Olympiads. We use Interactive Whiteboards in every classroom, bringing the curriculum alive in full colour, also exposing our learners to the wonders of Technology.
To achieve the level of success that our school is so proud of, curiosity is sparked in the class with many hands-on activities and events. Imagination is encouraged and the Arts and Languages are given equal priority with other parts of the curriculum. The ability to create new ideas is vital to every facet of education.
We enjoy amazing success in the field of culture. We are one of the few schools in Johannesburg regularly invited to participate in the Tshwane Youth Festival, at the State Theatre. We have a trained choir and marimbas are offered as an extra-mural. Chess is hugely popular, again with professional coaching, encouraging success at District Level.
Sport is certainly encouraged, from the happy participant enjoying the benefits of playing in teams, to the competitive player at District or Provincial Level. Swimming, soccer & cricket (including girls’ teams), netball, athletics, cross country and hockey offer everybody a chance to learn a sport.
Our highly competent Educators do more than teach – they facilitate learning, mentor, nurture and care for our learners. Our Grade 1 classes have Intern Educators in the classrooms with our experienced Educators, effectively bringing our ratio of Educator to learners down. We offer all our learners a safe, secure and caring environment.
We see parents as more than equal partners in education. We encourage a Northcliff Primary sense of community, that is more than fundraising activities. We encourage social responsibility in our learners through the support of various causes beyond the school.
Northcliff Primary School creates a climate of possibility. Please make an appointment to speak to the Principal, to find out more about this special place of learning and how we can give your child the best start to their educational career. You are also welcome to make an appointment to see our school in action and to see what we have to offer.

Vision

To provide a safe and supportive learning environment that empowers learners to achieve their educational and personal potential.

Mission

We believe that education should take place in a fully inclusive environment with equal opportunities for all, and that all learners should learn to value cultural and religious differences.
We aim to ensure that learners at our school are provided high-quality learning experiences based on a broad and balanced curriculum.
We believe in achieving potential, while nurturing self-confidence and self-esteem.
We will achieve this through effective utilization of resources and the active participation of educators, parents and learners.

Solar PV Suppliers serving the education sector, finally have a place they can call home, where they can make direct contact with the schools looking to install a Solar PV System

Solar PV for Schools will take the legwork out of the daily activity of your salesforce, by introducing you to schools, ready and waiting to know all about you.

The fundamental and unique reason for this Solar PV for Schools Platform is to give Suppliers a place where they can explain in great detail, the experience of the company, the team involved, contact details, the projects already carried out, and much more.

We are making four essential areas available to Suppliers:

  • Overview: detailing an overview of your company
  • Profile: everything about your company is important to the decision makers.
  • Gallery: post all important photographs of solar installations the company has carried out.
  • Reviews: where your Clients are able to post reviews and recommendations.

The more information you post, the more chance you have in being noticed. And you are always able to share your profile page with other perspective Clients, who will be able to see the good things your other Clients are saying about you.

It is important to underline that this area of the Platform is probably the single most important place for suppliers…schools’ decision makers and SGB read in detail and will recommend to their AGM the reasons they will choose their specific supplier. It is therefore important for all suppliers to spend as much time as possible on this area of the Platform.

A Solar PV Manufacturers category will soon be launched, where Manufacturers of Solar Panels, Inverters, Batteries, Roof Mounting Systems, Cables, etc will be able to SignUp to Solar PV for Schools and introduce their products.

The aim is to make schools aware of the unique part of the value chain they are able to fulfil, including the very important guarantees and warranties and extended warranties offered by the manufacturers to suppliers and how the end-user Client (in this case schools) will benefit.

Availability in the South African market is also an important aspect that school will need to understand, in order to ensure continuity of supply over the 25-years life expectancy of the Solar PV System.

We will shortly be speaking to Manufacturers to develop this important part of the Solar PV for Schools Platform.
